PROJECTS

1

PROJECT

The Tirizi Clinic in rural Zimbabwe is a primary health provider for the entire area.  Services have always been provided to all in need whatever the status of those requesting services.  Services performed in the dead of night were provided by torch (flashlight) or firelight because the clinic  had no electricity.  The Dewende-Africa Community Development Program, Inc. purchased a solar power system which was then set up by community members.  The Tirizi Clinic light can now be seen for miles in the dark, lighting the way to assistance for those in need; providing light by which to work for service providers.

PROJECT

DACDP, Inc. attempts to hold a yearly fund raising project to earn money to support students.  One such fundraiser, A Taste of Zimbabwe, provides an opprtunity for Americans to sample Zimbabwean food and customs. Taste of Zimbabwe is our opportunity to report on the progress made in conducting projects in Dewende.  It is an opportunity to interact with  members of the Zimbabwean community in America and learn more about the nation from which they come.  Generous contibutions of venues, home made dishes, speakers and perfomers have allowed this event to grow each year.

This year's event was held on July 4, 2019. We thank everyone who participated and donated to this cause. Furthermore, we would like to give a special thank you to Cornerstone Church, Akron, Ohio and the church’s leadership, Pastor Brenda Mason Young.

PROJECT

DACDP, Inc. is delighted to be able to provide a unique opportunity to allow organizations and corporations to receive top flight diversity training at an affordable price. In support of DACDP, Inc., Dr. Gwen Fischer, in collaboration with the late Dr. Debra Rodriguez, developed a Diversity Training module, a cross-culture PowerPoint presentation that is broad enough in scope to appeal to diverse groups.  It can be used to meet some of your organziation's training needs and has been well recevied by a number of local non-profits.  Peruse Dr. Fischers C.V. below and contact us for informaiton on how to set up training with your staff
